Julianne Hough is probably best known as a two-time winning professional dancer from Dancing with the Stars who recently became a permanent fourth judge as of the September 2014 season of the show. She met Brooks Laich, who is an NHL hockey player from the Washington Capitals, through a mutual friend in 2013.

According to Hough's personal blog entry on her website, she knew Brooks was the one since the day they met. Their engagement was announced on August 18th via Hough's Instagram account featuring a picture of her excitedly wrapped around her now fiancé staring at her ring. The proposal supposedly happened at home with the couple staring out at the sunset on the deck.

Kaitlyn Bristowe met Shawn Booth on the ABC reality TV series The Bachelorette season 11 where Kaitlyn served as that season's lead after she had previously been a contestant during the 19th season of The Bachelor. Booth had been a previous contestant on the 10th season of The Bachelorette as well, but was rejected by Andi Dorfman in favor of Josh Murray.

Booth had long been a fan favorite by many viewers of the show, and the finale had come down to both himself and Nick Viall, who had been added to the show mid-season. The conclusion of the finale, which aired on July 27, 2015, resulted in Viall being sent home and Booth making his televised proposal to Bristowe.

The ring chosen by Booth was presented to him by jeweler Neil Lane himself during the show, and is the most expensive ring in the history of the show with a price tag at $150,000, while not the largest at 3.5 cttw. Australian rapper Iggy Azalea began dating NBA player Nick Young in November 2013 after flirting on Twitter. On Young's 30th birthday, June 1, 2015, he proposed on bended knee in front of friends at his carnival themed party. The couple quickly took to social media to announce the news.

The engagement ring is from Jason of Beverly Hills, who also created engagement rings for Evelyn Lozada and Gabrielle Union. Skateboarder and reality TV star Rob Dyrdek proposed to his girlfriend, beauty queen Bryiana Noelle Flores, on April 25, 2015. The proposal took place at Disneyland during the Aladdin Show, with Dyrdek making an entrance mid-show on an elephant in place of Prince Ali. Dyrdek used Genie's three wishes to formulate his on-stage proposal.

Flores recounted the moment on Instagram: "He used his third wish for a gift that would show me that his love for me is forever. Hidden behind a beautiful tiara was the most BEAUTIFUL ring I have ever seen in my life! He popped the question and I said 'Yes!'"

Entertainer Stefani Germanotta, better known by her stage name Lady Gaga, broke the news on Feb. 16, 2015, that her long-time boyfriend, actor Taylor Kinney, proposed to her on Valentine's Day. The couple began dating in 2011 after shooting the music video for her song "You and I" together.

The ring, from celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, features a large heart-shaped diamond. Schwartz told InStyle magazine, "The stone is big and quite beautiful, and actually more expensive than some of the estimates I have read." The jeweler, however, declined to say how big the diamond is or how much it's worth. On Feb. 5, 2015, The Real talk show co-host Adrienne Bailon announced that she's engaged to long-time boyfriend and music executive Lenny Santiago. Santiago proposed during a family dinner in upstate New York, after giving a speech to her parents about how much he loves their daughter. Before presenting the engagement ring, Santiago first gave her a box of carrots, which she accepted graciously. He continued, "Well, since you said yes to those carrots..." and got down on one knee.

Bailon told People magazine: "The ring is from Rafaello & Co. Gabriel Jacobs, whom is a great friend of ours and does a lot of Jay Z’s jewelry, actually designed it with Lenny. Canadian actress Alison Pill and American actor Joshua Leonard took to Instagram on Jan. 3, 2015 to announce their engagement. Leonard proposed at Joshua Tree National Park in California during a trip with friends, who managed to keep the proposal a secret.

Their friends also played a part in the creation of the engagement ring, which is a recreation of a 1920s-style halo engagement ring. The ring was completed by a friend's stepfather, who is a jeweler. It appears to feature a cushion cut diamond with a diamond halo and a tapered band.

The couple wed on May 24, 2015, and honeymooned on Kauai.

In July 2014, Colombian-American actress Sofia Vergara began dating actor Joe Manganiello, soon after calling off her two-year engagement to businessman Nick Loeb. Months later, on Christmas Day, Manganiello proposed while they were vacationing at the St. Regis Hotel on Kauai.

Vergara showed off the ring while on Ellen. "It's just a little sparkle — subtle, like me," she joked. Singer Phillip Phillips, winner of the eleventh season of American Idol, proposed to his long-time girlfriend Hannah Blackwell on Christmas day. The couple soon took to social media to announce the news on Dec. 26, 2014. Phillips posted on Facebook: "My best Christmas surprise is happening. We're engaged yall!!" Blackwell posted a photo of her ring on Instagram with the caption: "I've been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I've been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness."

On March 14, 2014, British TV presenter and former model Katie Piper and boyfriend Richard James Sutton celebrated the birth of their first child, Belle Elizabeth. Their relationship is quite private, so the history of their dating life is not known. On Dec. 5, 2014, Sutton proposed at their home during a romatic, homecooked meal he prepared.

In late January, Sutton followed up with an official engagement ring, from British celebrity jeweler Lewis Malka. British actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter began dating in early 2014 and managed to keep their relationship a secret until September. A couple of months later, they formally announced their engagement in the Nov. 5, 2014 edition of the British newspaper The Times.

Photos of the ring reveal that it is a rectangular shaped double halo engagement ring with cropped corners. In several photos of the images, the halo gemstones appear blue. In early November 2014, Australian model Nicole Trunfio revealed in an exclusive interview with Who magazine that she had been quietly engaged to American blues musician Gary Clark, Jr., for several months. The couple had been dating for over two years. Trunfio also confirmed that she is pregnant with the couple's first child.

The low key proposal happened at their home in Austin, Texas. "I thought he was waiting for a big moment, but it was super-simple and it was just between us," Trunfio told Who. "It was so sweet."

British professional footballer Andy Carroll proposed to Billi Mucklow on her 27th birthday, Nov. 1, while the couple was vacationing in Rome. Mucklow is known for her role on The Only Way is Essex, a reality television show, and now operates her own yoga studio in Essex.

The two quickly shared their engagement news on social media, posting a photo of themselves standing in front of the Colosseum holding a caricature drawing of themselves with the words, "Will you marry me?" The proposal was apparently planned by London-based F13 Events and included a private jet from London to Rome and dinner at the Rome Cavalieri, a Waldorf Astoria Collection hotel.

On Oct. 21, 2014, Push Girls reality TV star Mia Schaikewitz posted a picture of her engagement ring on Instagram, confirming her engagement to Dave Labowitz. This particular celebrity engagement is special to deBebians, as the ring was made by us. Schaikewitz is a close friend of owner Maggie Moore.

"There is always a certain level of pressure to make the perfect ring for any client, but there is another level of pressure when it is a best friend," says Moore. On Oct. 15, 2014, actor Corbin Bleu proposed to actress Sasha Clements in front of Cindarella's Castle at Walt Disney World in Florida. According to People, the proposal involved Clements putting the engagement ring inside a glass slipper and occured right before the fireworks show.

Actor Daniel Booko had been dating Nia Sanchez, Miss USA 2014, for over a year when he proposed on Oct. 4, 2014. The proposal took place in New York City on a private terrace with a view of the city's skyline, with the help of Booko's sister Hannah. The couple quickly announced their engagement via social media.

The double halo engagement ring features a 2 carat cushion cut diamond with 49 accenting diamonds, set in platinum. Rapper Shad Moss, a.k.a. Bow Wow, made his engagement to Erica Mena, star of Love & Hip Hop: New York, known on Sept. 20 when he posted a photo of her engagement ring on Instagram. According to Moss, Mena "cried instantly" when she saw the ring.

According to an interview with Moss on BET's 106 & Park, he and Mena have known each other for years, and their engagement is real and not a publicity stunt, as some had speculated. He declined to reveal yet, however, the details of the proposal, but said they plan to marry sooner rather than later.

On Sept. 18, 2014, British television personality Rylan Clark announced his engagement to Dan Neal, a former police officer, via Twitter. He tweeted, "Pleased to say we're engaged. Thank you for all your lovely messages. Myself and @DanNealOfficial are very happy xxx."

Neal reportedly proposed during a romantic weekend getaway to Paris. Clark later posted a picture of his engagement ring on Twitter.
