The marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries only lasted 72 days, but the legend of Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring lives on. It has come to the attention of the media that Humphries is most likely looking to unload the 19.81cttw three stone engagement ring.
The ring in question is listed on Christie’s auction house in New York City and exhibits the same dimensions and qualities as the ring that was presented to Kardashian. The auction will take place on October 15th, which is titled ‘Bright and Beautiful.” Although Humphries is not named as the owner of the piece, it is more than likely it is indeed the same ring. The item is merely listed as “the property of a gentleman.”
Originally it was reported that Humphries paid approximately $2 million for the ring, but it is estimated to only sell between $300,000 and $500,000. The ring features an emerald cut center stone that weighs 16.21 ct, which is flanked by two diamond trapezoids that weigh 1.80ct each. The ring was designed by Lorraine Schwartz and is platinum.
The Daily Mail reported that Kardashian originally fought to keep the ring after the divorce, but the engagement ring was awarded to Humphries. The auction listing also specifies that a portion of the ring’s sale will be donated to charity.
Would you purchase Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring since it’s the bargain of a lifetime? Personally, I would have had the ring re-set into a necklace or a brooch, which possibly would have made the piece more attractive to a potential buyer.
