Pete Holmes Engaged

If anyone is having a great year, it is comedian Pete Holmes. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Holmes has gained popularity from his podcast You Made It Weird as well as his new comedy series on HBO called Crashing, which is produced by Judd Apatow. I first heard about Pete Holmes in 2013 when he went on Conan to promote his now ended sketch comedy and talk show hybrid The Pete Holmes Show. I loved his sense of humor so much I requested and received tickets to two of said show tapings and have seen him in countless stand-up acts. It has been a joy to watch his career blossom and grow throughout the years, with Crashing being only his most recent achievement. Aside from finding love again, that is.

The idea for Crashing is based on Holmes’s real life. It explores the true heartbreak of Holmes’s own divorce and his journey as a stand-up comedian. Holmes married his first wife when he was 22 and was divorced by 28. Now at 37, Pete has a new love in his life. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Holmes discussed his engagement to his non-comedian and “regular lady,” Valerie Chaney. He said, “It is funny to be doing the show about the decay of my first marriage while I’m planning my wedding.”

Holmes shared the happy news with his followers on his Instagram. He revealed the heartfelt moment of when he popped the question to Chaney in a hot air balloon.

Crashing airs on Sundays on HBO following Girls. All of us at deBebians wish Petey Pants and his Sweet Lady V all of the love and happiness in the world!
