A couple of weeks ago it was announced via both the host and Nerdist CEO Chris Hardwick and heiress Lydia Hearst’s Instagram accounts that they had gotten engaged with some of their sweet story shared along with the images that they posted.

Hardwick had just won the Outstanding Social TV Experience Emmy Award and was already with Hearst through the night. He had tricked her by telling her they were going to an after party to celebrate, but instead lead her to a romantically decorated room in the Chateau Marmont where he pulled out a candy ring that was the stand in for the real one which was a Hearst heirloom that needed to be sized.

My biggest win of the night was actually @lydiahearst saying YES!!!! This ring belonged to her grandmother Catherine Hearst and @patriciahearst has graciously and wonderfully passed it down to me to give to Lydia. IT’S OFFICIAL!!! What an absolutely perfect and amazing night!! I love this woman with all my heart….#YesThisMeansWhatYouThinkItMeans

Hardwick also posted the above photo of the ring which is a three stone engagement ring that features an emerald cut diamond and step cut trapezoid side stones.

Hardwick also admitted on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he originally had other plans to propose to her at Disneyland when she was out for her birthday with her friends.
