What is the basket of an engagement ring?

The basket of the engagement ring is the center structure of the engagement ring which holds and supports the center diamond.

Below you will find a few different examples of pavé basket engagement rings.

Sometimes I tell my clients simple is more elegant.  This is the perfect example. This basket engagement ring is shown with an oval diamond. The diamonds on the basket are only on the ring and not the legs or prongs of the basket.

Below you will find one of our most popular three sided engagement rings with a pavé diamond basket.  This ring is shown with a cushion diamond in the center.

The engagement ring below has a diamond encrusted pavé basket. We didn’t even leave one area on this engagement ring untouched. This particular mounting is perfect for a radiant diamond or an emerald cut diamond. Please keep in mind when this is set the prongs don’t look long like the picture. The diamond setter shortens and shapes the prongs according to the diamond.

I have been waiting a very long for the perfect client to come so I can design this ring with them. This ring is a graduated u pavé engagement ring with diamonds on the bridge and the prongs. I don’t know if I would say this is an engagement ring that has a basket but, I thought I would throw this in because it has diamonds on the bridge and the legs/prongs of the ring. This particular design is considered a flush set engagement ring.  This particular design is made for customers who need the wedding band to sit flush (no gaps) next to the engagement ring.
