Michael Jordan, 50, and Yvette Prieto, 35, tied the knot on April 27, 2013 in an expensive ceremony in Palm Beach, Fl. The extravagant affair cost the couple an estimated $10 million.
The former NBA powerhouse and Cuban-American model were wed at Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. The reception, which was coordinated by a wedding planner of the stars, Sharon Sacks, took place at Bear’s Club in Juniper, Fl.
There were over 300 guests in attendance, including Tiger Woods, Spike Lee, Patrick Ewing, and Scottie Pippen. K’Jon, Usher, and Robin Thicke shared special performances during the event. It has been revealed that Prieto donned a French silk J’Aton Courture gown that was decorated with Swarovski crystals. An insider and anonymous source spoke to Us Weekly about the breathtaking wedding:
“They are so in love,” the source tells Us of the couple of five years. “The warmth and the love was just overflowing. It was a wonderful day and will be a wonderful marriage!”
The décor of the reception space featured crystal candelabras and candles, and an assortment of fragrant flowers, which included peonies, white roses, and tulips.
“The attention to detail was magnificent,” the source stated. “The tent even smelled beautiful. It looked like the most luscious garden you could imagine. You walked into the dining room and it looked like heaven. The room was filled with thousands of candles, thousands. It was heavenly.”
The happy couple met in 2008 at a nightclub and became engaged in 2011 when Jordan presented Prieto with an impressive diamond engagement rings setting. The couple shares an extravagant 37,000 square foot mansion in Jupiter, FL, not far from where the couple exchanged their wedding vows. This is a second marriage for Jordan, who was previously married for 18 years to Juanita Vanoy, but the couple split in 2006.
