Christina Aguilera, 33, shared some happy news over Valentine’s Day weekend. She tweeted a photo of her and her boyfriend of three years, Matt Rutler, holding hands with the caption, “He asked and I said……” By the visible engagement ring on Aguilera’s ring finger, we can all safely assume that the singer accepted his proposal.

It’s difficult to tell from the photo, but Aguilera’s engagement ring appears to either be a vintage engagement ring or a vintage inspired engagement ring. It seems that many stars, including Olivia Wilde and Scarlett Johansson, have also received vintage style engagement rings.

Rutler is a production assistant and has worked on films including The Proposal, The Social Network, and Grownups. He and Aguilera met on the set of Burlesque and then began dating. This is the second marriage for Aguilera, who was married to Jordan Bratman from 2005 until 2011. She and Bratman share a son, Max, who was born in 2008.

What are your thoughts on Christina’s new engagement ring? Personally, I have been enjoying seeing the more vintage looking engagement rings. It makes me wonder if these will become popular for mainstream bridal jewelry as well.
