The Maroon 5 singer-songwriter, Adam Levine, and Victoria’s Secret model, Behati Prinsloo, have announced their engagement. It was first reported that the couple was dating in October 2012 after their first public appearance, which took place at the the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball in New York. The couple split in March 2013, but their story did not end there. Levine had been seen vacationing with model Nina Agdal several weeks ago, but Prinsloo and Levine recently reconciled. On July 16, 2013 it was revealed that the couple is planning on walking down the aisle.
Levine, 34, is a judge & coach on the talent TV show, The Voice and was listed as #41 on Glamour Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Men of 2012’ list. Prinsloo, 24, was born in Grootfontein, Namibia, and was first discovered at the age of 16 by a model scout. She has been a Victoria’s Secret Angel since 2009 and was also the face of the Australian swimwear brand Seafolly in 2012.
Levine proposed to Prinsloo in Los Angeles, CA with a stunning antique engagement ring. Prinsloo showed Extra TV the stunning ring and gushed, “It’s from the 1930s. I was very giddy. I was speechless. It was a beautiful moment.” The ring features a delicate filigree pattern as well as a large center diamond, which is consistent with engagement rings from that era.
She also revealed that Levine received her family’s permission before asking for her hand in marriage. “He was a stand-up guy, called my dad, called my mom. He did the whole thing.”
The couple seems very much in love and eager to be husband and wife. Prinsloo concluded, “We’re happy to start this new chapter of our lives together.”
