A split shank solitaire engagement ring is a most elegant yet simple way to present a center diamond. Without the extra ornamentation or pizzazz from accent diamonds, it allows an immaculately perfect center diamond to shine on its own in all of its own glory. The diamond is prong set with prongs that rise from the split in the band which starts about a third of the way down. The circular shape of the ring continues beyond the rise of the prongs underneath the diamond creating bands that sit below the diamond and the diamond itself also sits on a similar shaped basket to provide support. The entire motif is branch-like but sleek.
