What Is a Lab Grown Diamond?

At deBebians, we recently began carrying lab grown diamonds in our loose stones collection. We also carry a selection of lab created diamond jewelry, which includes bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Lab grown diamonds have grown in popularity, especially in recent years, due to their sustainability and equal beauty to a mined diamond. A lab grown diamond is responsibly created and ethically sourced, which is why we are proud to carry them.

You might be wondering, what is a lab grown synthetic diamond? A lab grown diamond, or synthetic diamond, is made from the same material as a natural diamond. A diamond is made up of pure carbon, which is crystallized in an isotropic 3D form. A synthetic diamond is not an imitation diamond. While a lab grown or synthetic diamond only differs from a natural diamond in the way it was created, an imitation diamond is made from non-diamond material.

We carry loose lab grown diamonds in the following shapes: round brilliant, cushion, oval, heart, Asscher, emerald, radiant, pear, and princess. The shapes come in a variety of carat weights, clarity grades, and colors. If you would like assistance in finding a synthetically made diamond, please contact our GIA graduate gemologists and jewelry experts at your convenience. We will continually add to this ever-growing collection of loose stones and look forward to being a part of many more happily ever afters to come.
