Here at deBebians you can choose to engrave and personalize a piece of jewelry. You have the option to engrave the inside and sometimes even the outside on a piece of jewelry. Many clients choose to engrave the inside of their rings with some sort of special message… their wedding date, a nickname, a symbol or perhaps even a verse from the Bible. With engraving on the inside of a ring, you can choose between a script or Helvetica font. To me, script is my favorite but can sometimes be a bit harder to read on rings that are thinner so definitely keep that in mind when making your selection.
For engraving on the outside of a piece of jewelry, typically this would include our signet rings and engravable discs. Here you have the option for three different types of engraving. You can choose computer engraving, laser engraving or hand engraving. The prices vary from $19.99 for computer engraving to $85 for laser engraving to $150 for hand engraving. Also, the amount of time it takes to engrave each varies. For computer engraving, please allow 1-2 business days. For laser engraving, please allow 2-5 business days. For hand engraving, please allow up to 5 business days. You also have the choice of the layout and font for your engraving. Customers have the option of a block style font or a script style as well as interlocking or more of a Roman style layout.
The most common engraving I see purchased is the interlocking (option #4) with computer engraving. I do think that the interlocking in a more common engraving layout and that the computer engraving is appealing because of the great price point. However, my personal favorite is the interlocking option but with hand engraving. I know that the hand engraving is a bit more in terms of price but the look is so beautiful that it does make it worth it! Oftentimes I see men select the laser engraving as it’s a bit more masculine, in my opinion. The laser actually burns into the metal so the engraving comes out to be a bit darker in color. It is a nice option but I prefer it for men vs. women.
