Over the holiday weekend former figure skater and popular fashionable sports commentator Tara Lipinski announced to the world that she is now engaged to her now fiancé, Todd Kapostasy!

According to her Instagram Kapostasy popped the question by convincing The Plaza Hotel to allow him to personally borrow one of their window displays and set up a painting of himself proposing to Lipinski in front of her home as a part of the display. When Ms. Lipinski turned around to look at him, he was down on one knee and presenting her with the ring.

Here’s how it happened…. Todd knows I love holiday window displays so after a beautiful dinner and on our way for a drink @theplazahotel he said there was window there he thought I’d like to see….he somehow convinced the hotel to let him take one of their displays over and this painting of him proposing to me in front of my home in California was inside. By the time I turned to him he was on one knee….this is one surprise and Christmas that I will never forget. @toddkap

By the looks of her Instagram posts as well, it appears that her ring has an oval cut center diamond with a pave diamond band. We’re not sure of the size of the center stone, but the design looks quite similar to our style # HE281 seen below.

A ring like this has a simple design with a relatively plain shape with just a little bit of unique flair from the center stone shape and the pave diamond accents that add a dash of extra sparkle.
