Lately I have been getting into the Katie Couric talk show.  One of the things I’ve noticed lately is the insane size of some of these celebrity engagement rings.  Avril Lavigne’s ring caught my eye when she appeared on the show a few weeks ago.  Have you seen that monster?!?  I believe it’s about 17 carats.  You can read about it more on one of our blog posts. Last night I was watching Katie’s show again and Mel B (aka Scary Spice) was on.  Her ring looked gigantic!  All I could see was that it was a giant fancy yellow diamond with two white diamonds on the side.  I decided to search online to learn more about it.  Next thing I knew, I had spent an hour browsing (and drooling) over celebrity engagement rings!

Here are some of my top favorites!!

Cat Deeley who hosts the popular show So You Think You Can Dance, rocks a reported 20 (Yes!!! TWENTY!) carat fancy yellow asscher cut diamond set into platinum with two accenting white diamonds.  Wowser!

Hillary Duff’s engagement ring is a 14 carat radiant cut diamond with two white accenting diamonds.  Apparently it’s so big that she woke up one morning with scratches on her face… boo hoo!  This may actually be my favorite celebrity engagement ring!

Danica Patrick’s engagement ring features a 4 ½ carat emerald cut diamond.  To me, the shape is more like an asscher (a square emerald).  What a beautiful and classic engagement ring!

Jacqui Ainsley, who is engaged to Guy Ritchie, wears a gorgeous engagement ring!  The ring, designed by both Ritchie and Neil Lane, features a five carat old European cut diamond set into platinum with a halo of round diamonds accenting the center stone and also appears to have a split shank.  Classic and timeless!

I could go on and on but these were a few of my top favorites!  I could spend hours looking at celebrity engagement rings!  Some are totally over the top… I agree!  But wouldn’t you love to just try one on and imagine wearing a 5 carat plus engagement ring?!?!  I sure would!
