In 2012, Cumberbatch’s sister, Tracy Peacock-Tabernacle, commented on his love life. “You have to be a pretty smart cookie to keep up with him,” she said. “I think that is possibly why he has trouble with girlfriends.”

Cumberbatch and Hunter have known each other for some time and starred together in the 2009 film Burlesque Fairytales. Cumberbatch, 38, is perhaps best known for his title role in the BBC’s Sherlock series. He also appeared in Star Trek Into Darkness, 12 Years a Slave, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Hunter, 36, is an Oxford graduate, actress, and theater director.
