Most Popular Engagement Ring Styles: 2012 Engagement Ring Trends

Engagement rings are the same as any other style of fashion–they experience various trends and are constantly being influenced by the changing times.  Currently, there are several different styles that are quite popular.  Which look do you love the most?

Art deco engagement rings first became popular in the 1920’s. Now, these vintage-inspired engagement rings are once again the norm.

Currently, what was once old is now new again.  Art deco engagement rings in particular have become quite trendy and have definitely experienced a reemergence in popularity.  These stunning rings contain whimsical touches, such as milgrain detail or hand-engraving.  These labor intensive pieces are quite romantic, so it is easy to see why they have become widely popular once again.

Solitaire engagement rings will always be among the most popular styles because of their timeless and classic look.

Solitaire engagement rings have and will always be the most widely accepted engagement rings.  They showcase a solitaire diamond of your choice, with round brilliant and princess cut diamonds being the most popular, on a plain band.  Today, many are also opting to wear a solitaire-style engagement ring that features one large center diamond and then smaller, pave diamonds on the band.  Either way, this classic and elegant look will certainly stand the test of time.

Pave engagement rings are updated and more modern versions of classic solitaire engagement rings.

Which engagement ring setting have you always dreamed of?  Has your taste in engagement rings changed over the years or has there only been one that caught your eye in particular? What are your favorite 2012 engagement ring trends?
