Lebron James and the rest of the Miami Heat NBA team received their championship rings on Tuesday October 29th. The players did not know what the ring looked like until they received them at the Heat’s ring and championship banner-raising ceremony. The ceremony was followed by the season opener against the Boston Celtics, a game that the Heat would dominate and win 120-107.
“It was good to cap this night off with a win,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra was quoted. “It was an emotional time for all of us in our organization.”
James was the last of the players to receive his championship ring—a size 13.5 ring that features a black background and is encrusted with 219 individual diamonds. The ring was designed by Jostens and also features the Heat logo and the prominent words “World Champions.” Replicas of these rings will be sold for $3,200.00 by Jostens.
Earlier that the day, Lebron James, who clinched the title of regular-season and Finals MVP explained, “I’m going to live in that moment. This is a special moment not only for our team but for this organization, for the city, whoever is a Miami Heat fan. We all will live in the moment, but we also have some other business to take care of well. … These moments are not given.” What do you think of the Miami Heat Championship rings?
