Ashlee Simpson announced via Twitter that she and boyfriend Evan Ross are engaged. She tweeted a photo of the couple, which she captioned, “My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii!!!”
Ross, 25, is an actor and musician and is the son of the great Diana Ross. In July 2013, it was revealed that Ross had begun dating the youngest Simpson, 29. Simpson was previously married to rocker Pete Wentz, whom she divorced in 2011. The couple shares custody of their son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, 5.
Singer Jessica Simpson, Ashlee’s older sister, joined Instagram last week and shared a photo of her celebrating with the happy couple. Ross presented Simpson with a ruby and diamond engagement ring, which was designed by Neil Lane and is visible in the shared photo. The ring that Ross chose may have been influenced by Jessica Simpson’s husband, NFL player Eric Johnson, who proposed to Jessica with three stone ruby engagement ring. Jessica’s engagement ring was sold by Neil Lane, but originally had been designed by Tiffany.
