Ring Weight

Wedding ring weight can vary depending on the design of the wedding band. For example, when it comes to wedding ring weight, it seems that a wedding band with a flat top and a comfort fit will most likely weigh more than a domed ring with a comfort fit (when compared to a band in same finger size, metal and ring width). Remember that gram weight can vary depending on how the wedding band is manufactured.

Here at deBebians, we manufacture our wedding rings with either a comfort fit or classic fit inside. A comfort fit is where the inside of the wedding band has a slight dome creating less resistance over when the ring slides over your knuckle. Many prefer this and feel it to be more comfortable. Most of our men’s wedding bands feature a comfort fit design. A classic fit is where the wedding band is flat on the inside. For ladies bands, whether it's comfort fit or classic fit depends on the design and if diamonds or gemstones will be set in the ring. Browse our selection of lab grown diamond rings to choose an ethical sourced band for customization.

When shopping for a wedding band, make sure to find out what the estimated wedding ring weight will be in grams. Even though two wedding bands may look the same, the actual gram weight may vary. It's also good to know that the type of metal can affect the ring weight. For example, let's say you have a 4mm ring in 14kt white gold that weighs 6 grams. In platinum, this exact ring will weigh closer to 10 grams. Cool, huh?

Depending on the ring type and metal, the weight of a ring can vary greatly. Weight is also a very "personal" feeling where someone who is used to wearing rings may not notice the weight nearly as much as someone who has never worn a ring before.
How Much Does a Gold or Platinum Ring Weigh?
Below is a general guide of the approximate weight for comfort fit rings and wedding bands in 14k gold and platinum. We offer this wedding ring weight calculator guide as a reference for our customers with common widths and finger sizes. However, please note that this is provided as a general reference only. We manufacture by hand every gold and platinum ring specifically for the customer upon order. Therefore, no two rings are exactly alike, and 14k gold and platinum wedding ring weights may vary due to the nature of the manufacturing process and ring design.
