Under the Jewelry Education link at the top of our homepage, you’ll find a tremendous amount of super, helpful information. This info will come in handy throughout your process of buying a certified diamond and/or engagement ring. Here, you will be able to learn about the diamond 4 C’s, diamond shape, ring anatomy and so much more. Be sure to visit our education link as a resource during your shopping process. Remember also that we currently have three trained GIA graduate gemologists on staff as well as other customer service reps who are quite knowledgeable in this area of jewelry education.
Today, I wanted to showcase a few of my favorite sections under our Education link. To me, these are the most helpful sections to someone who has limited jewelry knowledge and is shopping for an engagement ring.

Diamond 4 C’s
When shopping for diamonds, it is critical to familiarize yourself with the 4 C’s of a diamond. In this section, you will learn about diamond cut, color, clarity and carat weight. We even have helpful charts so that you can see exactly what we are talking about. For example, we toss around clarity terms such as VS1 or SI2. Perhaps a customer isn’t quite sure what the difference is other than a VS1 has less inclusions than an SI2. Well, on this page you can view a chart that explains more about clarity and shows you a plot of what a VS diamond and an SI diamond would look like under 10X magnification. To me, sometimes being able to actually see what you’re talking about makes it so much easier to understand.

Metal Information
When shopping for jewelry, you always need to consider what metal you are going to buy. On this page, you’ll find helpful info (even broken down into a chart) about the different metals that we carry here at deBebians.com. I am quite often asked by my clients about the differences between white gold and platinum and which I recommend. Here you can learn more about each metal and be able to make an educated purchase.

Ring Anatomy of Engagement Rings
Perhaps one of my favorite pages on our site is this page, the ring anatomy page. I love showing this page to clients who don’t know what certain terms mean. What is a cathedral setting? What is a bezel setting? What is milgrain? What is u pave? What is a split shank? All of that info can be found on this page with descriptions and fabulous pictures showing you exactly what you are looking at. Love this super helpful page!
Remember, when you are shopping for jewelry that knowledge is power and the more you know, the more comfortable you will feel making your purchase! If after browsing our education pages you still have more questions, do not hesitate to call on us! We are here for you every step of the process from beginning to finish! Happy shopping!
