Designing your own engagement ring is easy if you choose deBebians. We offer literally hundreds of different styles of rings and thousands of loose diamonds on our website. This is incredibly convenient for our customers as well as affordable. Since we operate primarily as an e-commerce retailer, we do not have the same overhead costs as brick and mortar jewelry stores and we simply pass our savings along to our customers. Simply follow these easy steps to get started with the process of creating the ring of your dreams with us.
Educate Yourself on Loose Diamonds
Diamonds are graded based on the 4 C’s. Diamond color, clarity, cut, and carat weight are the most important factors that determine the beauty as well as as the value of a loose diamond. By educating yourself on the different qualities of diamonds, you will be able to determine which characteristics of the diamond are the most important to you. We have many different resources to help you begin your own diamond education. If you have specific questions, we have a team of GIA graduate gemologists that would love to speak with you.
Choose a Center Stone
First, a center stone is to be selected. Since we make each of our engagement rings to order, we require the diamond’s specific measurements to ensure that the ring is manufactured with the perfect proportions. Our loose diamond search is customizable with various slide bars and contains both EGL and GIA certified diamonds. If you would like our GIA graduate gemologists to conduct a loose diamond search for you with your desired specifications and budget, please do not hesitate to contact us at your convenience. We have access to thousands of diamonds that are not listed on our website, including non-certified stones. If you prefer the look of non-diamond engagement rings, we also have a beautiful collection of gemstone engagement rings.
Select a Setting
We offer hundreds of engagement ring settings that range from vintage-inspired pieces to simple solitaire rings.
Our setting choices range from the classic and traditional solitaire settings to the most elaborate art deco engagement ring settings. If your setting contains pave diamonds, our GIA graduate gemologists inspect and choose each stone by hand. This ensures that each pave stone matches in color and clarity. Choose a setting based on your beloved’s personal taste and styles. If she prefers antique-inspired jewelry, a ring that features milgrain detail or hand-engraving may be an ideal choice for her. If she loves elegant and refined pieces, a solitaire setting is sure to please her.
Determine the Metal Type
We offer our engagement ring settings in white, yellow, and rose gold. We also have them available in hypo-allergenic platinum.
Does she love the look of yellow gold or has she fallen in love with the flushed color of rose gold? Does she have any metal allergies? These are the questions that you will need to ask yourself before placing your order. If she suffers from a nickel allergy, a platinum ring may be the best choice for her.
Find Out Her Ring Size
This can be the tricky part. If she wears a certain ring on her right hand on her ring finger, this ring size may be a good indication of what her ring size is on her left hand, but this method is not 100% accurate. For instance, if she is right-handed, her right fingers may be slightly larger than her those on her left hand. Simply borrow the ring and have it measured at a reputable jewelry store. You can also enlist the help of one of her friends or family members to find out her ring size in a sly manner. The easiest and most reliable way, however, will be to take her shopping and have her finger sized by a reputable jeweler. You can play it off as if you are trying to choose a gift for your mother and need help determining the ring size.

Our jewelry experts will contact you directly if we need more information or if we need to create a custom CAD design for your particular item. Since we make each of our rings to order, please be aware of the processing time, which is different for each product. The processing time can be found under the ‘delivery information’ on each product page and does not include the shipping transit time. If you need to rush an order, please contact us and we will be happy to see if it is possible to work with you to fulfill your order by a specific day, however deBebians will not compromise the quality of a piece in order to have it manufactured in a haste. High quality products require time and expert skill.
