Kim Kardashian’s Diamond Ring from Failed Marriage Auctioned

Last month it was rumored that and eventually confirmed that Kris Humphries planned to auction Kim Kardashian’s diamond ring that she wore as her engagement ring, which I discussed in our blog. Though the ring was estimated to be worth some $2 million when the couple became engaged, the ring was valued by Christie’s auction house between $300,000 and $500,000. It sold yesterday during the ‘Bright and Beautiful’ fall auction in New York for over the estimated value at $749,000.

The NBA star, who was recently traded to the Boston Celtics, proposed to Kim Kardashian while the cameras rolled for ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’ The three stone engagement ring features a gigantic 16.2 carat emerald cut center stone and two 1.8 carat trapezoid side diamonds. Lorraine Schwartz designed the stunning piece of jewelry. Humphries and Kardashian were only married for 72 days. Kardashian filed for divorce, which reportedly left Humphries blindsided.

However, it seems that the NBA star is continuing ahead with his life. “He has long-since moved on and is very much looking forward to a successful auction at Christie’s on Tuesday, and of course to returning to the court this upcoming NBA season as a Boston Celtic,” a representative of Humphries told E! News last week.

The divorce was finalized in June 2013, only a couple of weeks before Kardashian gave birth to her and boyfriend Kayne West’s daughter, North.
