Jewelry Guide: Buying Signet Rings Online

Signet rings are a gift that will be cherished for years and years.  Here at deBebians, we offer our signet rings in a variety of metals including yellow gold, white gold, rose gold and even platinum.  You can also choose from a variety of shapes including round, oval and square, to name a few.  When you are placing your order, you have the choice of three engraving options for the face.  You can choose from hand engraving, computer engraving or laser engraving.  Choosing the right signet ring can be hard especially when you are buying online.  Here are a few of my personal favorites along with helpful tips for purchasing that perfect signet ring.

  1. Large Oval Center Signet Rings For Women

I love this particular signet ring because of the oval shape and the gorgeous interlocking hand engraving on the face.  Helpful tip: Be sure to see if the signet ring you are interested in features a solid (closed) or open back.  This particular ring features a closed back. While it does make the ring slightly more substantial in terms of gram weight, it also makes it more expensive than a similar sized ring with an open back design.  If you are looking for a larger signet ring and are on a budget, be sure to check out the open back version.  For example, SRRS141 (shown here) retails for $425.  The face measures about 12.5 X 11.2mm and the ring weighs about 4.6 grams.  A similar version with an open back (shown here) measures about 12.7 x 10.1 and weighs only about 2.9 grams.  Price on this ring is currently $306.  Basically, you’ll get a similar look size wise and will also save you a little money.

  2. Round Yellow Gold Women’s Signet Rings

This round 14kt yellow gold signet ring features one script hand engraved initial. Helpful tip: Be sure to take into consideration the overall size of the signet ring face.  This particular ring could fit one to three initials without any problem.  However, if you are choosing a signet ring with a smaller surface area, perhaps choose one initial (like the first initial of the first or last name) so that it doesn’t seem so squished.

These are two of my favorite styles of signet rings along with two helpful hints for buying.  My last helpful tip would be to draw out the overall measurements on a piece of paper and hold it up to your finger, if you are having problems trying to visualize overall size.  Many people have a hard time visualizing mm and how a particular ring will look on their finger and this can be helpful!  If you need assistance with a signet ring or have any questions, do not hesitate to call on us.  Happy shopping!
