Rumors have been running wild about the extravagant wedding that singer Janet Jackson and billionaire fiancé Wissam Al Mana have been planning. It turns out that these reports are completely false as the couple has released a statement that the pair was married a year ago. This comes as a big surprise because the couple was able to pull off the wedding without showing up on the radars of the press and media.
The couple released a joint statement to Entertainment Tonight.
“The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true,” read the statement. “Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony. Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet.”
This is the third marriage for the famed singer who was previously married to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo. She was also engaged to Jermaine, but the pair split in 2009. Jackson and Al Mana have been linked since 2010.
