Hugh Hefner has been taking the breakup between him and ex-fiancee Crystal Harris quite well. The famous Playboy king has even insisted on Harris keeping her $90,000 engagement ring.
The ring itself is a 3 ½ carat brilliant-cut diamond set with diamonds in a micro pave on a platinum band.
She was also gifted a Bentley car and a beautiful Cavalier King Charlies Spaniel, which Harris tried to give back. Hefner was happy to receive the dog, Charlie, back, but insisted that Harris keep the Bentley. “It was the right thing to do.” Harris stated.
Hefner has not spoken in detail about the breakup, but did express his joy to get Charlie back by saying, “Crystal brought Charlie back because she thinks he’s happier here and I appreciate it, because I really missed him.”
Shortly after the breakup Hefner tweeted “It’s the start of a new day, and a new week, and I’m happy to be single.”
Harris indirectly replied by tweeting on her own page, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end.”
Harris appeared on the cover of Playboy’s July 2010 issue and the two had been engaged in December 2010. The wedding was set for June 18 2011, but Harris talked to Hefner about her cold feet and doubts about the wedding on June 14th. It was then they both decided to call off the wedding.
The Lifetime special, “Marrying Hef”, was canceled and replaced with a new show with Hefner about runaway brides.
