It has been confirmed that George Clooney and his girlfriend, Amal Alamuddin, are getting married. Though the couple has taken precautions to be quite secretive on their plans to marry, more details seem to be leaking out, including details about the barrister’s engagement ring.
It is rumored that Clooney, 52, proposed to Alamuddin, 36, on April 22nd. Clooney presented his trilingual girlfriend with an ethically mined diamond engagement ring. The center diamond is said to weigh 7 carats and is an emerald cut diamond. The three stone engagement ring also features two baguette diamonds on either side, similar to our Bel Dia ring (shown). This ring is elegant, timeless, and as classy as George Clooney. I love it.
Clooney is not only an Oscar winner; he is also a producer and a political activist. He is involved with the Not on Our Watch Project, been an advocate for a resolution of the Darfur conflict, was appointed as a UN messenger of peace, just to name a few of his passions. Alamuddin was named London’s Hottest Barrister in 2013. She also represented WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange during his extradition proceedings in Sweden.
Clooney was previously married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 until 1993. In 2007, Clooney was interviewed for Esquire and remarked that he would never marry again. As most things go, never say never, Mr. Clooney.
